Prospect Cemetery
"Prospect" means "view" in this use. At the top of a rise, the old farmers forever overlook their cornfields.
The stones are from left to right - the little monument, leaning in, for the Ernst infant (Anna Sophia's child); then the tall stone for John F. who died at age 21; then the monument for John CE (1839-1908) and Anna M. (1845-1932); then the two flat ones for Lottie and her husband; then the monument for John C. (1813-1898) and Sophia (1813-1899).
More photos -- J C Meyer and Sophia on the right, JCE and Anna Marie on the left (with Steve's hand.) These are very large monuments of red granite. More will be added later.
This opens in a new page, use the "back button to return -- Prospect in 1978 (Ruby Sturm Worrel, and Perl Sturm Echterling in red.) Notice that in 1978 the infant stone isn't tipped; I'll bet the lawnmower has been hitting it.
