Nancy Westfall Hartzell, wife of John Jeremiah, mother of our ancestor David Daniel, photo taken in the 1860s. This is another photo from a xerox (from Ruth Salley Johnson, my father's first cousin.)

Nancy Westfall was born in Darke County, OH, Jan.22, 1823, and died there Nov. 11, 1866. She is buried in the Breamsville Cemetery along with her husband and all of her children except the two that went to Kansas, Philip and David. The family farm was located about six miles north of Greenville and one mile west of Beamsville, Ohio.

Her children: William (1842-1858); Philip (1843 - 1919); David (1844 - 1937); John J. (1846 - 1868); Josiah (1849 - 1853); James A. (1851 - 1853). Her husband, John Jeremiah Hartzell, came to Ohio in 1833.
